‘Edvard Munch. In dialogue’ is dedicated to the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch (1863-1944) and his lasting influence. The publication focuses primarily on the artist's late work from the 1910s onwards and its relevance and topicality for contemporary art.
It is not primarily concerned with direct variations on Munch's iconic paintings, such as those produced by Andy Warhol, although these do play a role. The focus is primarily on those artists who have explored Munch in depth and continued the Norwegian's formal experimentation or subtly explored the thematic dimension of his motifs and subjects in their own work.
