This book provides a comprehensive historical treatment of the regime covering the Turkish Straits (Dardanelles and Bosporus) with particular attention focused on Russia's attainment of many of her long standing goals in the area.
Professor Váli investigates the importance of the legal factors regarding the Straits, particularly those resulting from the Montreux Convention (1936), and he does so with due regard for diplomatic, political en psychological implications.
