- In the Third Reich, Celle played a prominent role in enforcing the blood and soil ideology. The court of second instance, the Prussian State Court of Inheritance (Landeserbhofrecht), was based in Celle. The importance and achievements of this court are presented in the first part of the book. After the war, social justice was set up, a new jurisdiction that is now responsible for all social law facts. The court of second instance in Lower Saxony, the state social court, was based in the old administration building of the Mitteldeutsche Spinnhütte in Celle. Peter Lindemann and Käthe Poppinga examined the structure and the initial number of judges. In doing so, they encountered the problems of late start and unsurprising parallels with established jurisdictions.
