Colonel Rick Couch and Bruce J. Hinds--test
pilots on the B-2 bomber's maiden fliaht in the
summer of 1989. Colonel Couch. a 22-vear Air
Force veteran and decorated combat pilot, was
responsible for conducting initial evaluations
on the B-2 weapons svstem. In 1985, he was
assianed to the staff of the Air Force Svstems
Command Headauarters. where he served as
senior B-2 test pilot until 1989. Bruce Hinds has
been the chief test pilot and deputy manager of
Test Site Operations at Northrop Corporation's
B-2 Division since 1982
