The book covers the history of flying wing aircraft.
The first four chapters describe the initial discoveries and developments that created the foundation for the flying wing aircraft design. These chapters cover the period from 1870 to the early 1940s. The middle four chapters are dedicated to the Northrop flying wing bomber program of the the 1940s. The last chapter briefly covers the delta winged aircraft from the 1950s to around 1981.
The book is very readable, has plenty of good pictures on fine quality paper, and is filled with historical facts. It also has an appendix that describes the restoration of the first flying wing, the N-1M, developed by Northrop in the early 1940s.
