This is a facsimile copy of the 1900 map book which was produced betweenb 1897 - 1903 from reduced Ordnance survey maps at a scale of 4 miles to 1 inch. The original map series wash hand drawn hand lettered and printed from copper engraved plsates. Subsequent additions were made directly onto the copper plates so some of the pages may carry later additions to the original cartography however the atlkas reprewents accurately the first ever Bartholomew's Motorists Atlas and shows in details toad, railways, canals and settlements as they existed at the time. 96 Maps, with 64 pages of Index and Xi pages of introduction.
